Jennifer reached out to me to get some Adored Salon Branding Photos. These photos would allow her to update parts of her site and use them for her upcoming workshops. Adored Salon is a cozy, modern salon situated on the outskirts of downtown Lombard. They specialize in curly hair. As a curly hair girl myself (although my hair has changed quite a bit in the last decade), I appreciate this so much! If I didn’t already have a hair stylist I loved, I’d definitely head to Adored Salon.

Our time at the Salon was spent getting some photos of Jen in action at the chair and around the salon.

We switched gears and captured some of her running her business in her office.

Finally, we swung over to Lilacia Park (a beloved spring and summer destination for my portrait clients) to create some magic with the early summer blooms. We were both drenched from the summer heat but it was totally worth it as you can see.

When having brand photos taken, there are a few key things you want to keep in mind.

1. What do you want to use the photos for? A website refresh, an upcoming campaign, print marketing materials. Be as specific as possible. For example: I need new images for my website including a blog cover photo, images to use for this specific blog post, a profile image of me looking at the camera and one of me doing a hobby I love.
2. Where do you want to have your photos taken? If outdoors, you probably want to do it when the weather is congruent with your desired backdrop. If you want snowy photos for Christmas and the forever long January/February (at least here in the midwest!), then let’s get some in the winter. If you love walking through a flower garden, like Jen, then let’s do it in spring or summer with some season specific blooms.
3. Are you ready for branding photos? Schedule your haircut (with Jen if you have curly hair and need a stylist), choose outfits that flatter your *current* body type and match your brand colors!
