Senior Photos | Class of 2025 | Downers Grove

My busy fall season started out capturing senior photos of this Class of 2025 senior guy! We spent our evening in downtown Downers Grove finding new spots. Every block or so, we were stopped by all the people saying hello to him and his mom! He is well known and respected in our community (because of his non-profit you will learn about below).

As we walked around, he and his mom were talking and laughing and keeping track of college football scores. It was wonderful to see how they related with the other and the respect they had for one another.

When choosing a location for senior photos, I always recommend choosing a place that has meaning to the senior and/or the family as a whole. It can be the local high school (elementary/middle as well), a sports arena/field/track where they play or somewhere in nature they go to get away from the hustle and bustle. I also encourage seniors to include a hobby they enjoy. For this senior, we chose his non-profit work as the specialty focus.

We wanted to include a few images that would document the amazing work that he is doing caring for others in difficult situations. Our session ended at the family home so we could take a few photos in “the shed”. (It was great to finally meet his dad, too!)

Pack the Kindness, The Backpack Project, non-profit formed by a child

At the age of 9, this young man was inspired to help others when he encountered a woman with a sign straight from her heart. Ryan soon began this non-profit to benefit the homeless in our area. I’m truly inspired by his continued efforts and the support of not only his family but his entire community and his peers.

Be sure to check out The Backpack Project here and follow @packthekindness on FB and IG to keep up with all the work they are doing and learn about how you can help at packing events or host one of your own!

Just two short (yet fast) years ago, I was fortunate enough to work with his sister for her senior photos as well. Thank you G family for trusting me to capture this season for both of your amazing children who are going to positively impact the world and future generations because of their kindness and be an example for others around them.
