In-home lifestyle newborn sessions are truly some of my favorites! The honor of being chosen to capture memories for families as they welcome the newest member of the family is truly humbling. They are in one of the most challenging transition times any family experiences as they figure out what their new daily routine looks like and likely feeling a bit vulnerable as they are sleep-deprived yet enamored with their blessing.

This sunny late July morning was filled with so much love because the moment you walked in this family’s Glen Ellyn home, you felt at ease and welcomed with open arms. Their hospitality even during this transitional season of life was beyond wonderful.

Little man is the perfect addition to this family.

I imagine him looking at his dad like this during a sporting event someday and saying, “Dad, did you see that?” all while mom looks on with joy at the relationship they have built together.

Big sister is still warming up to holding him but I’m confident that any day now, she’ll want to be his biggest protector.

The tender moments between a mom and her newest blessing are fleeting and to be cherished and remembered forever.
